Jeju horse. This horse breed is native to the Jeju Island in southern Korea and considered a national treasure. Short and stocky, with long, blocky bodies and large heads atop thick necks, they often look more like ponies than horses. Because Jeju horse hooves evolved to handle the sharp, rocky terrain of their native island, they are extremely hard and don’t need horseshoes.
