Indigenous village on stilts of Taino and Villa Guamá. The village is located on the Tesoro lagoon in the Ciénaga de Zapata Oriental. It represents the most advanced indigenous culture of pre-Columbian Cuba (the taína). The Indians of the Siboney tribes occupied the territory of the Zapata swamp before the arrival of Christopher Columbus. During the colonization, few people lived there, only fishermen.
