Régulo Calarcá. This rebellious, warlike and devoted man to his people was the leader of the Pijao tribe and responsible for the fight against the Spanish colonizers. This indigenous tribe was located in the central cordillera of the Andes and thanks to its chief Calarcá, it avoided being invaded at that time by the Spaniards.
