African Pangolin. Also known as scaly anteaters, pangolins have large, protective keratin scales covering their skin. Four species ranging in size from 30 to 100 cm can be found found in sub-Saharan Africa. They live in hollow trees or burrows, are nocturnal, and feed mainly on ants and termites.
