Colossal Olmec head of San Lorenzo. It is one of 17 stone representations of human heads carved from large basalt boulders. Their height varies from 1.17 to 3.4 meters. The heads date to at least 900 BC and are a hallmark of the Olmec civilization of ancient Mesoamerica. The smallest weighs 6 tons, while the larger one weighs 40-50 tons, although it was abandoned and left unfinished near its quarrying.
