Watchtower of the royal wall of Ceuta. The city had already been fortified by the Romans. The Portuguese erected the current wall between 1541 and 1549. This large stone wall, 170 meters long, 11 meters thick and 20 meters high, is located at the south-western end of the monumental complex of the royal ramparts. Inside is the caliphal gate.
