Bird of paradise. This bird species is one of the most amazing and colorful in the world. From the dawn of civilization, men have traded and worn their plumage. Introduced in 1909 to little Tobago island in an attempt to save them from over-hunting in Asia, the 45 breeding pairs survived until the ’60s but the population is now presumed extinct on the island.
