Hassan II Mosque. Built in Casanblanca between 1988 and 1993, it is one of the largest mosques in the world. Its minaret is 200 meters high. Designed by the French architect Michel Pinseau, its construction required 53,000 m² of carved wood and 10,000 m² of mosaics (zellige) made from pieces of colored faience.
