Abhaya-mudrâ. In Nepal, the positions and hand movements (mudrâ) of Buddhist and Hindu deities are strong symbols. The fingers pointing to the sky and the palm facing outwards symbolize the absence of fear, protection, benevolence and peace. The hand also symbolizes the interaction of the chakras, which is the flow of energy circulating in the body, the five senses and the mudrâs that affect them.
