Pashupatinath Temple. This famous and sacred Hindu temple complex is located on the banks of the Bagmati River at the north-east of Kathmandu, the Nepalese capital city. This temple was listed by the UNESCO on the World Heritage Sites’s list in 1979. It serves as the seat of Pashupatinath, an incarnation of the Hindu god Shiva as “Lord of the animals” which is considered by Hindus as the national deity.
