West African zebu. This bovid with great horns comes from a very old cross-breeding with the East African zebu. Particularly well adapted to the hot and arid climate of the Sahel. Breeded mainly by nomadic peoples such as the Fulani to whom it provides milk, meat and leather, it is found from the Gulf of Guinea to Mauritania.
