Blue-ringed octopus. This highly venomous species of octopus is found in tide pools and coral reefs in the Pacific and Indian oceans. It can be identified by its yellowish skin and characteristic blue and black rings that change color dramatically when the animal is threatened. It feeds on small crustaceans, including crabs, hermit crabs, shrimp, and other small sea animals. Despite a small size from 12 to 20 cm, it’s one of the world’s most venomous marine animals.
