Brown pelicans. It’s a large and conspicuous, gray-brown bird of saltwater habitats. Strictly coastal, it’s rarely seen on inland lakes. It owns a very long bill with pouch for scooping up fish. It forages mainly by diving on fish from above and frequently cues into fishing activity looking for handouts. It often flies in long lines close to water’s surface. Brown pelicans are found in warm, shallow waters throughout the nearctic and neotropical regions of both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans.
