King Gentius. He reigned from 180 to 168 BC J.-C. and was the last king of Illyria. He was the son of King Pleuratos II of the Ardiaei tribe. His capital was Scodra. In 171 he allied himself with the Romans against the Macedonians, but in 169 he changed sides to rally the cause of Perseus. In 168, he was defeated at Shkodra by a Roman army under the command of Lucius Anicius Gallus. The date of his death is uncertain.
