Komodo dragon or monitor. This species of monitor lizard is found only on the islands of Komodo, Rinca, Flores, Gili Motang and Gili Dasami in central Indonesia. It is the largest living species of lizard, with an average length of 2.6 meters and a mass of around 80 to 90 kg. Adults, although they feed primarily on carrion, can also kill animals that they stealthily approach. After a first bite, the prey then die from sepsis as a result of the infection of their wound.
