Pemaquid Point Lighthouse.This historic U.S. lighthouse is located in Bristol, Maine, at the tip of the Pemaquid Neck. It was commissioned and built in 1827. Because of poor workmanship (salt water was used in the mortar mix), the lighthouse began to crumble and was replaced in 1835. The keeper’s house was built first in 1857.
